More new updates...

Not much is really new in my world...I know, that's how I've started all my posts this summer (or something to that effect, at least) Work continues, with an idiot boss and a good boss either ruining or making my night...this is also affected by the department they stick me in and how many trucks were in that night. I hate my job, but it's something, and it's good money (I just got a $.55 raise, woohoo!) Two more nights until my "vacation"...crap, I still need to buy batteries.

Yes, the annual Carter family vacation (actually a family reunion) is coming up this week. Yay for a 14 hour trip to southern Kansas with 5 people squished into our car and grandma needing to stop every hour...I am a passenger who would rather just drive the whole thing and only stop for food and gas...other than that, you do not stop/get out of the car/take "senic routes" or any other such nonsense. You get in the car, you drive, and you get there as soon as possible. It will also not help that I should get home from work at 7 that morning, have enough time to shower, change, throw my suitcase in the car and take off again. The benefit, however, is that I do my best thinking at my grandparents' house. It's so peaceful (Mom can't yell at me 'cuz Grandma will yell at her), the food is good, and I have lots of free time to run around outside trying not to get too eaten up by chiggers. Something about the place puts me in a really good state of mind, a state of mind I'm treated to only twice a year, so I cherish it, even if it is preceded and concluded by the drive from hell.

So, yeah. Car rides sometimes suck. There went my train of thought.
