Changes and such...

Have decided, after reading all of the Shopaholic books (v. excellent, I might add!) and both Bridget Jones books, that if I do not move to Canada in the next few years, I will make the jump to England. I will, however, take as many cookbooks as I can over in my suitcase as I do not think that English cuisine and I will get along, as I'm not a big fan of fish, can take or leave chips, and the concept of blood pudding is absolutely revolting. The shopping does sound lovely, and the accent has got to be better than the stereotypical Canadian "Eh?" Besides, I like the queen. She's got to be better than our moron.

Am still in love with the haircut. It's nice not to look like an overgrown ten year old. Hooray for brand-new straightening irons which are far too complicated to figure out how to turn on for the first twenty-five minutes.

Finally, totally and completely, down to the v. last red cent have paid off my parents. Hooray! Freedom! Now to stay broke for the rest of my life, dreaming of things that I can't have. Stupid bloody cell phone, too bad you are expensive, but I am totally in love with the thought of you.

Am also looking forward to Sonshine and the arrival of a good friend (yay Meg!)...this year I promise myself I will not get sunburnt and will purchase a new tube shortly before I leave...I'm also thinking a long sleeve white t-shirt, huge straw hat, jeans, and some SPF 75 will do the trick nicely, even if I will look like a complete and utter dork. No more bubbles, blisters, peels, funny colors or pain for me please, I am a working girl and do not have time for such matters.

Oh, and next week, I will be in Iowa for my days off. Could be interesting. Perhaps get a chance to dine at my first ever Cheesecake Factory...I love cheesecake. It is potentially one of the best things in my life at the time.

Lord, I went to Applebees tonight with my parents as Mom's dinner had turned out to be not done at 6:45 after almost two hours in the oven. Will never ever make that mistake again...was incredibly embarrassing to be seen on a dinner date with my parents by half the people who used to mock me terribly at school for being sub-par in the beauty, brains, and money departments. Couldn't enjoy my terrible alfredo for the desire to flee.

Have to work on the fourth of July...there must be something wrong with that in today's day and age...will get hauled in by the government and labeled as a terrorist or something, just so I can support the consumerists hoardes who forget to buy hotdog buns...grr...

Anyway, best run...slept seven hours today and hope to sleep seven more to catch up...I'm not really tired, though...

Despite the amount of Republican hating in this post, I am glad to hear the good news. You may wanna reconsider the outfit you have selected or you may look like some of the farmers around here, and that is not something you should strive for. Fuck the people who saw you eating with your parents, Dana your fucking awesome and a 100 times better person then any of them, I guarantee that.

Might I suggest wearing a pimp colored suit? Cream, Yellow, Green, or orange would work. Certain shades of blue and purple would also be acceptable.

One final thought, Dana as someone who considers you a good friend, and by god someone needs to tell you this so it might as well be me. I dont know about your financial situation, but you certainly do not lack in the brains or beauty department. You are one of the most intelligent women I have ever met and you are equally beautiful.NEVER let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise. Can I get an AMEN?
